Parasomnia taps into the zeitgeist of Zdzislaw Beksinski

Director William Malone acquires rights to the artwork of world-renowned Polish master Zdzislaw Beksinski! Malone, a long time fan of his work, plans to feature the master Artist's imagery in the Visual FX sequences, of his upcoming movie Parasomnia (Dreams of the Sleepwalker)! The artwork is from Beksinski's best-known period, which he referred to as his "fantasy period"! The period started in 1970 and lasted well into the late 1980's, during which he created very disturbing images, showing a surrealistic, post-apocalyptic environment with very detailed scenes of death, decay, landscapes filled with skeletons, deformed figures and deserts. Despite the grim overtones, Beksinski felt some of his paintings were misunderstood; in his opinion, they were rather optimistic or even humorous.

Beksinski's exibitions frequently sold out, with his paintings selling in the $30,000 to $50,000 US dollar range, and made him one of Polands most famous and talked about contemporary artists.
Until tragically, on 21 February 2005, Robert Kupiec put an end to Beksinski ever again sharing, his truly brilliant talent with us. He was found dead from 17 stab wounds to his body, in his flat in Warsaw.
